Few Shots From Conrad Christmas
My batteries ran out, so I didn't get many photos.. but here are a few of my twin niece and nephew and the Conrad women.
Quick Update
Things have been a bit crazy around here. We had a lovely ice storm last week and have been having frigid temperatures for what seems like forever. Summer... please come fast! Mamaw flew in last week and we were enjoying hanging out with her. Friday morning she gave us a scare and started having seizures. Something we think began giving her symptoms at my birthday dinner. She did find out she has a tumor in the brain actually we are lucky and it is in between the skull and brain and they think at this point it is not cancerous. But, with her history they have to treat it that way. They will remove it tomorrow with a gamma knife. We hear it is a pretty easy procedure and she actually comes home tomorrow. The Dr. wanted to send her home yesterday, but she told him" unless it is 80 degrees outside, I am staying put until this is all done." Good thing for us, is that she has to stay with us for about 6 months. I know she will miss Florida, but we are going to love having her near by. Brady was ready to have her move in with us and stay on our little couch. My sisters have been finishing up the shopping for my Mom and baking cookies. It looks as if we will all have a wonderful Christmas after all.
I took my final last week and failed. The online course I took was very vague and it obviously did not prepare me for the final. Although I have been preparing for the state test and am at the point that I should be to take that. Go figure. So I am working really hard on my own studying so I can retake after Christmas. Aj and the boys take turns quizzing me and checking my answers. It is pretty cute. I can't wait to have this studying done and have a life once again. Lately it has been boys, hubby, and studying.
AJ's back on third shift, but we lucked out with having him off on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. So, that will be fun! We have two Christmas' to make up for after all.
I hope you all are doing well. I have enjoyed getting all of your Christmas cards! Love to all!

I'm Here
I figured I better update.. Not much going on. Just life. If I am not totally consumed with the kids basketball- 3 days a week, studying for my license, Christmas, and the house... it's something else. We are all doing well and ready for Christmas! I hope to post some new pictures I have been taking with my new phone I got for my birthday. Yes.. I'm spoiled.. I got a new Blackberry Storm. It has taken a bit to get used to it, but I am figuring it out! The first day I had no clue how to answer it or how to dial anyone, I now know how to E-mail, check my facebook and myspace, and I am sure I can blog on it. I hope that you are all doing well and I promise that I will get better at posting. =)

Christmas Spirit
I have been lucky to have the past 3 days off. It is amazing when you get that one extra or two days, how it makes such a huge difference. I'd like to say that my house is spotless and that my laundry is all up to date, but it's not! I made an effort to get Christmas going early this year. The boys and I decided yesterday to not venture out to the parade, but to get the tree up. Brayden wouldn't even let me get a cup of coffee, he was ready to get it up. I went to the attic and got the tree and the tubs of ornaments. The boys helped me organize the tree parts and get it all up and together. As we were putting the last tree limb on, the whole tree toppled over and the stand broke. Ugh! So, I decided it was still early in the day, but late enough to miss the Crazy Black Friday crowds. So, we headed into town. We went to Menards and searched and searched for the perfect tree. The boys wanted a bigger (taller) one then we had. We had a 6.5 foot, but now that they are growing, they thought the tree had shrunk. So, we were on a mission to find a 7.5 foot. They were pretty picked over, but we found one. I was shocked at the price- 160.00 for a fake tree. I reasoned with myself because the last one had lasted us probably about 5 Christmases. So, I figured this would do the same. I had to run and drop my wedding ring off to the jewelry repair, because a prong was now sticking straight up. The boys stayed in the van and watched a movie ( I know, not the best parenting) but it allowed me to run in and out. Only to find I needed 6 of the 8 prongs redone. It's going to cost me 160.00. Ugh. But, it will be refurbished and brand new. Not like I can walk around without my wedding ring ;) So, we did that and ran through a drive thru. The boys were so anxious to get the tree up, so we started as soon as we got home. Only to find that there were two of the same poles in the box. After trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, and maybe just maybe it would work... I woke AJ up to take a look at it. He wasn't thrilled I woke him up, but he didn't seem to mind looking at it. In the meantime I tried calling the number on the warranty about missing parts, etc. No answer after 20 minutes... so we had to take the tree back. I was frustrated with Menards, so we got our money back and went to Walmart. I found the same tree- different box- same manufacture for half the price!!!! Just goes to show you. The tree got up last night, and everyone is excited about it. I made AJ take us in for Mexican food and I needed a margarita! We had a great dinner and I was stuffed!
Today I spent the day wrapping presents and going through what I had for everyone. The boys are so excited and can hardly stand it. I think I have given Brayden the false impression that Christmas is closer then it is. But, since AJ was gone last year and I wasn't much into the Christmas spirit, we are going to live it up this year. I was surprised to see that AJ was into looking at our yearly ornaments and reminiscing with me about the different years and why we had the ones that we had. I also realized I didn't buy a family one last year. The boys had their own and I had one given to me by a friend marking the deployment. Again, deployment fog. I realized how not into it I was last year as I unpacked my decorations. I could tell I just wanted them all put away so that we could move on.
We are suppose to get 3-4 inches of snow tonight/tomorrow. So, I think we will stay in our Pj's and get the house clean. AJ switches shifts tomorrow, so he wont be around. He will get a brief sleep before heading to 2nd shift. Poor guy. Well, I'm off to veg for awhile.

Feeling Thankful
It has been a few weeks since I have lasted posted.. yes, we are alive and yes, things are good. We have spent the last month adjusting to AJ being on 3rd shift. It has sucked a lot out of all of us. AJ is tired all the time. He comes home and goes straight to bed, then gets up and tries to be productive and participate, but each time he sits down.. he is asleep. He has tried to get on our schedule on his days off which have been Monday and Tuesdays, but he finds himself wide awake when we are sleeping. We were glad to hear that for the next three weeks he will be on second and off Fridays and Saturdays. We won't see much of him, but it will be nice to have the weekends. I keep reminding myself to be thankful and that he is home. We had thanksgiving with his family last weekend and had dinner with mine today. I'm finding myself exhausted even though I didn't make the whole dinner. I have spent a lot of time lately getting ready for the holidays. I am just about done shopping and found a special gift for AJ today online. I hope I can keep it a surprise.. and no I am not dropping any hints on here. I am lucky to have a four day weekend, so the boys and I are going to head downtown tomorrow to the Santa parade. It isn't to often that we have 45 degree days in November/December, so we are going to enjoy it. I hope all of you who still read this.. I hope somebody still does...enjoyed your holiday and got to spend some time with those who mean the most to you. To my family... I love you and thank you for everything that you do for us!

Productive Weekend!
I had a very productive weekend. I can say, that I designed and ordered my Christmas cards and have the boys about 95% done with Christmas presents. I sat my butt down and went to town with my online shopping. Love Amazon.com! By the way, if you have moved this year... make sure you send me your new address! I have to say my cards are super cute and I would hate for you to miss out =) J/K

AJ's First Day
AJ's first night on the street is tonight. He was so excited, packing his stuff a few hours before he had to leave. I of course had to take a picture. You can see how happy he is by his smile. I know he is a bit nervous how the other officers will treat him his first day, but I know he is very ready.
Catching Up
Sorry that I have only posted pictures the past few weeks. We have fully taken advantage of having AJ on the same schedule with us, and I enjoyed spending evenings with him. We got a few porch nights in with the warm Fall weather we have been experiencing. AJ worked 8-4 last week, and starts 3rd shift tonight. He will work all week, due to having drill/ball this next weekend, but normally he will have T/W nights off. This schedule will be like this for the next 4 weeks.
He has been so cute packing his bag, organizing his stuff. I can't wait to get a picture of him tonight as he leaves for work. His first night on the street is tonight and he can not wait.
Well, I'm off to work. We have an Estate House tour today. Should be fun!
