The Weekends Go Much To Fast

It seems as if I wait and wait all week for AJ to get home. Friday nights are spent getting the house picked up and making dinner. AJ joins us about 8. The kids stay up for awhile to see him, then it's off to bed. We get to sit around and reconnect after the long week. Saturday, I seem to just be exhausted. We ran errands all morning and went to Keeg's soccer game. It was so humid, that I think it zapped every ounce of energy I had left out of me. We made a stop into a local meat market and got some wonderful New York strips that we enjoyed last night and some chicken kabobs we will cook up tonight before he leaves. =( Today, we decided to stick around and get some stuff done. I have been cleaning and AJ has been working on a report for school and getting the lawn cleaned up. He spoiled me with chocolate chip pancakes this morning. Do you see a trend here?? It's all about food this weekend =) I'm looking forward to work this week. We have an appointment with the police department and sheriff's department to get them to use us for relocation of their officers. I am excited, because these are people I can relate to and it will be a lot of fun to find houses for them. I have been doing a little searching myself for houses, but we both decided that I need to get my real estate class done and get him through school before we add one more thing to the mix. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I'd love to hear from each of you soon!

Word of Advice

Never wear orange underwear under a black and white skirt and get stuck in a downpour at the soccer field!

Still around...

Sorry about the lack of postings lately. Our lives are blissfully quiet around here. We have gotten into the routine of me being back to work and AJ being gone M-F. The boys are still out of school due to their school renovating. They will go back after Labor day, so I have been juggling them between my Dad and babysitters.

Work is going great for me. I am still learning a lot. This week has been pretty quiet because everyone is focusing on getting their kiddos back to school and not looking at buying new houses. I got my new work laptop today and had company photos taken yesterday. I am excited and nervous to see them. I was running late getting to my appointment and would have liked to have gotten the chance to spray my hair and fix my makeup after a day of work.

AJ is in his third week. He has been taking Spanish for Police Officers this week. They are learning phrases that they will use in scenarios at the 11th week. He has his class photo tonight and his first test tomorrow.

Keegan started the parochial soccer league and Brady is taking the season off. I can't complain. =)

Back to normal..somewhat?!?!

My boys all got back Friday. I have to admit, I was miserable without them. So much for getting all these things done with them. I found myself so exhausted when I got home from work and then trying to study. We have had a wonderful weekend. We really just spent the weekend hanging out, spending time with our family, and just getting things done around here. The perfect weekend =) Aj is ready to start week 3 of his training. He will have his first test and class pictures this week. He seems to be enjoying it now that it is becoming a little more interesting. He starts spanish classes this week. I think he is excited for that. Keeg starts soccer tomorrow. So the next few weeks will be pretty crazy with soccer and then in two weeks the kids will be back to school. Until then, they will be juggled between babysitters and with my Dad. Hope you all are well and enjoying some beautiful end of the summer weather. =)

A quiet house...

My Dad took my boys to MI this morning to see my Grandma. Work was crazy busy today. I think she may be testing me a bit to see if I can juggle and prioritize. I did fine on all my tasks. I put together a Market Analysis on a home and we won the contract to list today! My first! We are currently putting together a presentation for a high end home that we will try to get the listing contract for on Thursday. A lot of stress in the office today, but everyone works together so well, so I know that we will do just fine.

Back to the boys being gone... I always think when they are wild and crazy and I am handling everything myself that a break would be wonderful. Truth is.. it is to quiet around here. I was so tired after work that all I wanted to do was grab a bite to eat and get home. I told myself that I was going to take advantage of the evenings and get a head start on my studying. I did pretty good tonight, but had to turn the TV up pretty loud. I hate the quiet. =) I know the boys will have a good time, but I miss them already! I can't imagine how AJ does it being away from us all the time.

I'm going to go over to my sister in laws and brother in laws a few blocks away and we are going to enjoy a margarita. It is a tradition when my kiddos are away and AJ that we have a drink together. We get to do it maybe once a year. I'm looking forward to a relaxing drink and then hitting my bead early. I think I could have gone to bed at 6:45 tonight!

Week 2.. 10 to go.

We have officially started week 2 of AJ's police training. We had a good weekend. He got home Friday night, and we had dinner and hung out on the porch. Saturday... I must have been exhausted. I hadn't slept well the two nights prior, due to our dogs having some sort of stomach thing. We went to breakfast and went grocery shopping. I crashed on the couch for over an hour, while AJ worked on laundry. Yes.. I am very spoiled. I felt horrible that I crashed then crashed early on the couch. Today we went to church and just did a few things around here. AJ was able to leave after dinner, so I feel like we got a full day with him. Brayden was very sad that AJ was leaving again and I think AJ had a time today where he really didn't want to go back. He feels guilty about leaving again so soon. The boys are going to MI to see Mamaw with my Dad on Tuesday. They will return on Sunday. I will get a few nights to myself. Not really sure what I am going to do with myself.. but I am sure I will find something. =) I am going to meet a friend for dinner, and have a couple drinks with my brother and sister in law. I'm hoping to maybe get a pedicure. Other then that I will get some studying in and try to keep up on the house. So, that AJ and I can have a date on Friday night when he returns.

AJ and I have been really into the Olympics this weekend. The kids don't seem to be much into it. I think the most moving moment for me so far was when the Iraqi team walked in and everyone clapped. I think it brought tears to my eyes that the women didn't have to wear their full dress and they were give such a warm welcome. Even President Bush's reaction touched me. I think it got to AJ a bit too . (Although he never would admit it.)

I am well rested and ready for week 2 at work. =)

An Aunt X 6

Yes.. I am going to be an aunt for the 6th time, but the 1st on my side. My sister Jamie that was married in May, is having a honeymoon baby. She has been very sick and is finally starting to feel better. She has a blood clotting disorder like Jodi, so she has to have shots everyday in her stomach. I am so excited to find out what the sex of the baby is and to start helping her shop and get things ready. We have officially decided that we are done. (This year anyway.) With our new careers and our boys, it just wouldn't be fair to any of us to have another. We aren't ready to make it a permanent decision, but it is definitely off the table for awhile. I look forward to getting my baby fix from my new niece or nephew.

I signed up for my realtor class today. So, I will be plugging away at that after the kiddos are in bed. I am anxious to start. I find myself exhausted today. It was a crazy day today, barely time to breathe, and I was wide awake early. I am hoping for an early bedtime.

AJ says his classes are going well. He hasn't learned anything that he didn't know yet. I think he will be ready to get more intense training next week. He is ready to come home and hang with us this weekend. We are very ready and it certainly makes the counting down a lot easier.

Well, dishes and laundry to do. Never ending! Hope you all are having a great week!

Something to think about...

I saw this graphic on one of my favorite blogs. It really hit home. This is something that I am going to really try to focus on this year.

“This day, I thankfully accept all of the good things that are coming my way. This day is full of excitement, love, energy, health and prosperity. This day, people are calling on me to be a service to them and I respond by giving my very best. This day, I think and practice health in my life, refusing to accept anything less than perfect health. This day, I accept the abundance and prosperity that is mine and willingly share it with others. This day, I focus on the moment and give no thought to the past or to the future. This day, I spend in total enjoyment of what I do. This day, I fill with loving thoughts and actions toward all other people and myself. This day, I spend in grateful appreciation of all that is mine. This day, this hour, this minute, this moment is all that I have and I choose to use it in celebration!”
Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Get a Life” by Larry Winget.

I am really enjoying my new career. I have learned so much this week already. I feel privileged and honored that company of such high profile wanted me to be a part of their team and is making me fell so welcome and confident. It is a very high paced office, but I love it. The 8 hours goes so fast! Today I got to continue working on a marketing packets for some of our homes. I also got to sit in on the weekly staff meeting and got to work numbers and view a house for a market analysis. I viewed to beautiful houses close to the half million and one million dollar marks. Absolutely amazing! I hope I didn't walk around the properties with my mouth open!

First Day!

I know many of you are waiting to hear how my first day went. It went great. I can't believe how fast the 8 hours went. I learned a ton of realtor lingo and how to do so many new things. Tomorrow I will have my own desk and will be getting a brand new laptop.

I haen't talked to AJ today, but he sent me a few texts and seems to be liking his class. I know they spent a lot of time in the classroom today and he is anxious to get out and do hands on training.

I'm exhausted and have to get the kids PJ'd. They had an awesome time at their old babysitters today!

My niece and nephew had their 1st Birthday party today!

New Beginnings

Our new beginnings have officially begun today. I have been pretty nervous all week, because I have no idea what to expect at my new job and AJ left today to start his training. Letting him go today, even though it is for 5 days and then we get him for 2 doesn't make it any easier. We have been together nonstop since he has been back and everything is so much simpler when he is around. Brady cried for a few minutes, I'm sure bedtime will be the hardest. He was like a little kid on the first day of school. He left early and had everything set out and by the door last night. Say a prayer for me that this week goes fast and that my new job was a good choice. I think it finally hit me when I saw my last check in my bank account. I no longer have a contract and that one year of safety. I know I am going to have to work really hard and have to prove myself. I am very ready for that. I just hope that the kids and the household chores all fall into place as well.

We are off to my niece and nephews's first birthday. I can't believe it's been a year! Happy birthday Dalton and Marion! (I'll post photos later. )
