My grandma still had a temp this evening, so that means yet another day in the hospital. My Mom took a break and went swimming with us today. My Dad went back with her to the hospital for a bit. Brady is coming down with a cold- why wouldn't he? Not like we don't have enough going on. I am assuming it is not from being in the ER on Thursday, but know I will probably get it- why wouldn't I? Oh well.. I can sit on the beach in CA with a cold. We will see how he is tomorrow, and may head back instead of waiting until Monday..

Sick.. why not?
Update
My Mamaw has a pocket of fluid and a possible absess where they took the lymph noids to check for the spreading of cancer. Her temp was back up last night, so she will be in the hospital until Monday. My Mom and Dad got here Thursday night. My Dad has been haning out with us, and playing with the boys. My Mom has been staying at the hospital. She will take a break today, to swim with us. I plan to go to the hospital tonight.
The boys are bummed she is not here, but I don't want to take them back to the hospital. Brady started sneezing today, and I pray it is nothing!
All in all, we are getting a nice needed break. Brady and I hit the Old Navy, Gap, and Pepridge Farm Outlets yesterday. I will now have my Dad to drive back with mye on Monday. Wednesday can't come fast enough. AJ heads to CA tonight.
Well, I better get going.

Mamaw in Hospital.
We got here about 11:30. My grandma's visiting nurse got here around 1. By 2 we were at the ER. She spiked a temp of 102.3 last night- and it continued today. They are keeping her for at least 24 hours while all the test results come back. They are worried about a serious infection. We will see. My parents are on their way up, I did as well as I could with my boys in the waiting room and trauma room. I am so thankful, I got here when I did. Otherwise, they would have called an ambulance to take her. She is not happy she has to stay- but was very confused.

What day is it anyway?
It has been a crazy week- how did I ever fit work into my life? I have been so busy working on our Peoria Marine site, and tweaking and getting all the appropriate comments and letters on the right page- think I have it well enough to leave it alone for the next 10 days or so. Maybe at least the next five I am in MI. Anyway.. I also have been designing the new website for the local Marine group. It is so hard to design for other people- but so far good responses. I just need to talk to the guy that owns the domain name- and get that switched over. Hopefully i can get it up by mid July. Anyway.. just plugging away at that- which I love. Wish I could do it full time someday...
It is ten p.m. and my kids are just now in bed. We had baseball and I wanted to get my house clean before we go to MI. The kids were helping me, and we lost track of time. I have nothing packed for me- but have the kids packed for both trips= to MI and then will just wash and send them to my Moms.
I feel lost on what day it is right now. I had no clue what day it was today- it is amazing I get to where I need to these days. I think it took me three tries to get to Kohls today- had no clue where I was going.
I will post when I get to MI.

Waiting and Waiting... one more week!
Well, I have just over a week and I will be heading to see AJ. Not a whole lot new. I have been finishing up the Peoria Marine site and then was asked to revamp one for a local Marine families group. They are nationally recognized, so that is exciting. Of course, a lot different doing it for someone else, but I think it will be a fun project especially when I get back from CA. There is some home that AJ may get to come back in September- they are not leaving the country now until mid September. I guess. Honestly, as much as I hate to go back through that good bye one last time, it would be good for the boys- although I do dread the readjustment once again. But, at least he would get to see their teachers, classrooms, etc. But, we aren't holding on to that... Im going to enjoy my time in CA as it was the last for a long time.

Another weekend down!
It was a crazy but good weekend. Saturday my parents came out and helped me fix my computer and things around the house. We headed up to the town parade and later that night we hit the rides. The boys sure enjoyed the rides- well most of them. Brady broke my heart. He wanted to ride the little roller coaster with Keegan. He was so happy and excited.. until it started to move. He freaked. As a Mom on the side, I just wanted to jump the gate and grab him. The second time around he hung on to Keegan and then I couldn't take it and asked the man to stop the ride. He did, very nicely... and gave us our ticket back. I felt horrible, he was so freaked. He certainly takes after me with rides- I hate rides especially roller coasters!!! I get freaked on the small one as well =) I took some cute pictures, I will post them later.
This morning I got up and finished revamping the Peoria Marines site. I think I pretty much have it the way I want it. I am learning Microsoft Expression and Paint Shop Pro. I am also trying to set up an online yahoo group for the families. We will see if that works. Keegan and I went to church at 12, then we have been hanging out at my Mom's and Dad's. The boys wanted to come here so bad today. Brady wanted me to go out on a "date" so he could come here by himself over night. Guess they are sick of me already =)
We will just be home a few days this week, then we are heading back to MI. I am counting down the days until I see AJ, just over a week!

Night Out!
Last night was my first girls night in a long time. I went with the girls from work to dinner. Then I went with my sister, my future brother- in-law, and two Marine wives to the Montgomery Gentry concert. We met up with my friend Monica. The concert was o.k. They did a lot of support the troops stuff which was neat. They even pulled one of our guys doing security on stage. That was cool.
We then went and had some drinks. Some of the Marines left to take care of us were there. So, that was fun. I got home around 1- the latest in a long long time. I found myself sleeping until 9:15 this morning. AJ did call me and txt me this morning before- but I guess I needed it. The boys are at Moms for a bit more, so I want to get my house cleaned before they get home. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

One more week down!
I have not been much into blogging this week. I have been trying really hard to get into some sort of routine now that we are at home. It seems as if we have been on the go everyday this week just trying to get things done. We will be home just a week and we will head back to MI, then I am off to see AJ a few days after that. I can not wait.
He caught me on AIM today. I didn't even realize it was on. I was able to get the web cam going so he got to see us all be silly. He has seemed a bit down the past few days as well. He is just ready to get going. He says it has been nuts in NC and really stuff they could have done here. Oh well!
Well, I better get going. I need to go to an appointment and then the kids have haircuts. I am looking forward to my night out tonight. Not sure exactly what we are doing since it is suppose to keep storming today. Have a good weekend!

Home Safe and Sound
We got home in the early afternoon. It was hard to leave, feeling like I didn't have much to come home to. The boys love it in MI, and part of me wishes we could have just stayed there the rest of the summer =) Not much new today, so Im going to get off and get ready for bed EARLY tonight!

12:50 a.m.
Well here I am again... staying up late. I had every intention of going to bed an hour ago.. but here I am. I think the thought of driving home tomorrow, and settling back into what is "normal" right now is a bit frightening. It always seems easier up here, of course I am running from everything that reminds me of AJ at home. AJ loves this place as much as I do. Although, he never gets to spend half the time I do here. Coming back here brought so many memories back that we have shared up here.
AJ started coming here with us when I was just 17. He was getting ready to head to bootcamp, so my Mom allowed him to come and stay with us. He of course had to have a separate room. I remember having the best time here and playing in the Lake. We then moved away a short year later. So, we didn't visit here for a few years. I remember this becoming a place where Keeg and I came to heal the loss of my grandpa. We spent a lot of time here that summer, and it has been our tradition ever since. We really have become so close to my grandma, and have gained such an appreciation for the beautiful gifts that God has give us here.
So.. yes.. I dread going home. I think the kids are ready. They are such creatures of habit. Keeg is ready to get back to baseball and think Brady misses his bike.
Well, I better get going. I need to be on the road by the early afternoon. Here is to one last great night sleep.. I hope!
Another day at the beach...
The day started out humid and stormy. We thought today was going to be a wash out. But.. around 12 the sun came out and it was beautiful low 70's. A great break from the 90 plus we have been having in the Midwest and Great Lakes. We decided to go to our favorite beach here in Southern MI. The kids love it because it is totally geared for families. They have two playgrounds on the beach and tons of kids to play with near the water. I love it because it keeps them busy and there are lifeguards. I got to read my book while they played. Keegan ventured out in the water again today. There was a yellow flag, but I didn't mind as much because of the lifeguards. He enjoyed buggie boarding in the waves. It is amazing the waves that Lake Michigan can get.
We head home tomorrow. We have a baseball game and I have a counseling appointment. I had thought of cancelling it because I feel I am doing good, but then realized it couldn't hurt anything. My insurance pretty much pays for it all- so why not. Anyway.. I look forward to getting together with other Marine wives and Parents on Thursday for KVN training, then a get together with my friends from work and then hopefully the beer tent in town on Friday. The kids are excited about their sleep over at my Moms and I am looking forward to the break.
Here are a few pics from today!

A few more..
I took the boys to a beach in Southern MI this morning. We got there about 11 and stayed until 1:00. The wind started to pick up and the waves were blowing in at an angle, so we didn't stay long. The water was so clear and actually pretty warm for this time of year. Keegan didn't seem phased by it, as Brady and I waded on the shoreline.
We enjoyed PB&J's there and enjoyed watching the Seagulls try to get our food. There was one in particular that kept biting all the others. I am so glad we went early, because we can hear the thunder rolling in off of the lake.
A lazy week...

We continue to enjoy our weekend up in MI. We have spent a lot of time at the pool, and hope to get to the beach today. The boys had me up a lot last night for some reason, so today I am feeling exhausted. We got up early today so that my grandma could call her doctor.Sounds as if they do not want to see her and her home health nurse will be by shortly. Although, we were looking forward to grabbing lunch somewhere and her getting out.. I think she is relieved she doesn't have to go. But, continues to be on "house arrest". She does look 100 percent better from when we got here.
We spent a very quiet Father's Day. I tried not to make a big deal about it. We called my Dad in the morning, then talked to AJ a few times. The boys really did well with it, and glad we can cross one holiday off the list! Thank you to my friends/family who thought about us yesterday and dropped me a line.
Other then that.. not a whole lot new. I need to take some pictures tomorrow, as I have not had my camera out at all this weekend. I really just have been enjoying my boys, my grandma, and this little piece of heaven we are so lucky to have. Have a good week!

Relaxing!
We got to MI in a little over 4 hours. The traffic around Chicago was a nightmare- bumper to bumper for 45 minutes. The kids did great and we didn't have to stop.
My Aunt and Uncle are up here this weekend. They haven't seen the boys in a year or so. The boys are attached to my uncle's hip.
My grandma is doing o.k. The visiting nurse came today and they want her to call the doctor first thing Monday morning. Her incision looks infected. They did put her on another antibiotic, and her temp has stayed down. Poor thing.. she hates that we are all cooking and cleaning. But, she needs to rest.
I talked to AJ. They have started going in the field. They will have the day off tomorrow, but will return to the field next week. He hopes to be in CA by late June.
Well, not much else to post. We are all being lazy. My uncle got some wine that we enjoyed with dinner. MI had the best wine!!
Happy Father's Day to all you fathers and to all you mothers who are acting as both father and mother these days!

My lacking blog...
I know that my blog has been lacking excitement this week. It has just been a crazy week and all week I was running on little sleep. I got a great night sleep last night and feel like myself today.
There really is not much new. I hear from AJ a few times a day, but our phone calls also seem to lack excitement. He is so busy with work and hanging out with his Marine friends. It has created some tension between us, but he realized last night that it isn't fair to let his stress rub off on me. He went into this deployment as a Platoon Commander, then moved to a Platoon Sergeant, now I think is he is the platoon guide (3rd in command of his group of 30). They got other Marines with higher rank that joined their platoon, so he has to step down a level. He was bummed because he was looking forward to doing something different this deployment, but he said he expected it.
Keegan is doing great is baseball. He got his first home run yesterday! He has been going to soccer camp each morning this week.
Tomorrow we will leave to go to MI. I am looking forward to some good beach time! I really feel like I need to get away. I hope you all are doing well!

Great Day
Keegan had a great day. He had soccer camp this a.m. then we ran some errands and got "Eat Fresh" Subway. Then we went to the local pool and had family over for cake. Keeg did good not having AJ around and at bedtime, he was sad and wanted AJ here. I am tired today- have not been sleeping. I did call the doctor and she prescribed something for me, but am a little worried about trying it. I decided to try to just try to unwind and try to sleep on my own tonight to see how that goes. I just am so fearful that I won't wake up or that the boys will need something and I won't be able to help them. So, we will see what happens. Like I said, I am exhausted and have no desire to post b-day pics today. I will do that tomorrow.

Crazy Monday
It has been the craziest day! We woke up and I dropped Keegan off at soccer camp, then took Brady to swim lessons. We then had to pick up Keeg and went home so he could change. We met the Company 1st Sgt. at the Toys for Tots warehouse. I was so proud of how my kids handled seeing all those toys and not being able to take any home. Then we had lunch downtown. We hung out at my parents house and then realized an hour before baseball that we didn't have Keeg's shoes. She we had to run back home to get them. On my way back there was a train stalled!! We got to the game on time.. but then it ended up being the longest game ever. In the meantime I had a million phone calls on my cell- wall words calls, aj, work calls, etc. In the midst of this.. I think I may be taking a new position at my current school. The technology teacher position has come open and I immediately knew I wanted it but was afraid of what my teachers I teach with now would say. I happened to run into one of my coteachers at baseball and she immediately told me she thought of me when she heard about the opening. So, I talked to the tech support lady today and she really wants me to take it. I will call my boss tomorrow and let him now. I am super excited about the challenge of teaching tech to K-8 students. I feel that this is a great challenge for me right now and will give me that excitement I feel I need back. God sure does work in mysterious ways=)

It's 11:20 p.m. Shouldn't I be asleep?

AJ called tonight and he told me I sounded tired. I went on to remind him that when he is away, even when he worked 3rd shift, I have an awful time convincing myself that I need to go to bed. I get lost in the internet, in a show, mostly the Internet or my website.. and the next thing I know it is 12:30 or later. This week has been just that. I have not gone to bed before 12:30 and then the boys are waking me up at 6:00 for breakfast. I don't think they got the Memo about sleeping past 7:30 while we are on summer break! Anyway.. I got off the phone with my friend Shannon and told her that I was in bed and was really going to go to sleep tonight. Wrong.. I got lost again and find that it is now close to 11:30 and I am still not heading to sleep... but in bed.
I love photobucket.com if you haven't noticed. NOTE TO SELF: Don't search photobucket for bed pictures!!! Yuck!!
Sunday

Well, we officially got through the first weekend without AJ. I always think weekends are the hardest when AJ is gone. Even though I am off for the summer, there just is something about seeing everyone with their husbands/wives that makes me miss him more. Well, I got up and got going pretty good this morning. Those of you whom I have talked to this week know that I have struggled to get going. Been very lazy and find myself in my PJ's until um... Noon. So, today I was adamant to get going and get some things done.
AJ and I had watched the Food Channel before he left. We saw a recipe for an Italian Sausage and Pepper Sandwich. The Italian in me had to try to make it. So, I did for my family. I really love to cook, but don't do it much when it is just me and the boys. Anyway, I made that this morning and put it in the fridge for us to have for dinner.
My Dad wanted to take Keegan to see Spiderman 3, so we dropped him off to do that. Brady and I went to my sister Jamie's house. Brady ended up helping her fiance, Dan put rock in the yard. We love Dan! We are so excited for Jamie. She has found a wonderful guy that really loves her and takes care of her. We couldn't be more happy. A plus is that he is WONDERFUL with my boys. He even watched Brady so that Jamie and I could meet his Mom and sisters to go look at bridesmaids dresses.
We then had dinner at my Mom's. My Mom just got home after being gone for 3 weeks with my Grandma. My Grandma is now having a home health nurse come everyday to help with her incision. She is pretty much on "house arrest" right now until her incision heals and home health doesn't have to come. So, the boys and I will go up there Friday to help her and get away. We will do her grocery shopping, etc for her when we get there. It will be nice to also get some more beach time in.
I have talked to AJ a few times today. They have had the weekend off. Pretty dumb if you ask me.. but I don't run it. It just is frustrating when you know he has time off, his going out, going to the beach, when I want him here so bad. I try not to get upset with him, but sometimes I just want to scream when I hear he has time off. I feel like we need to get the show on the road, or they could have at least waited until today to leave.
I need to get the boys to bed. They are going through a phase now where they want to sleep in the same bed. So, they have been sleeping in Brady's bottom twin bunk. But, they keep asking to do it and they do sleep well. So, guess it doesn't hurt.
We have a very busy day tomorrow. Keeg has soccer camp in the morning, Brady has swimming lessons during the same time as camp, we are going to go to the Toys for Tots Warehouse, then we have baseball and baseball pictures.
I hope you all had a good weekend.

Plane tickets booked.. hotel found
I spent an exhausting day searching for the perfect airfare and hotel. I literally feel like I have been looking all day. I ended up finding an even lower airfare while on the phone with American Airlines, so that was nice. We decided to stay in the North County of San Diego, near where we lived. We have stayed at this hotel before and remember it being nice and has a breakfast. I figured we will spend most of our time in North County anyway visiting our old stomping grounds. Oh well.. I am excited I now have something to look forward to in a few weeks and will make this initial transition a little easier. Although, I do really dread saying good bye again- but at least we will get some good couple time in before that.
I'm Pathetic
I have only been away from AJ for... 36 hours. I hate it!! So.. I went searching for a flight. Turns out the unit he is going with in CA, has block leave the 22nd-9th of July. So.. he will have time off. I am going to go see him over 4th of July. I am exstatic. I have not been back to CA since we saw AJ come home on his second deployment in 2000.
Well, I didn't get to bed until 12:30 last night. I was really tierd, but just couldn't bring myself to go to bed. AJ did call, so that made me feel better. The boys were up at 6 a.m. So, needless to say.. I didn't get much sleep.

One day down/300 or so to go.

We made it through our first full day of this deployment. The morning was great. We did our usual: ate breakfast, hung out, cleaned up. Then we had lunch and headed to see Surfs Up! It was a very funny movie- one of those great for kids, and even better for adults with the adult humor hidden in. Anyway, I did run run into Steve and Barrys, but really didn't find anything I wanted or needed. Then we went to Wal-mart. We needed to get my sister an engagement party gift and groceries I have been putting off buying. The kids each had a gift cards, so they got something new. Bradys has to go back.. but that is another story.
AJ called on the way to Wal-mart. He got to NC safely. The other flight of guys was really delayed with the wind in Chicago- so they are expected to come in tonight. He was all settled in his room, etc.
Anyway.. we decided to ride in his car today. Something about riding in his car and smelling him is wonderful from time to time. I drove into Peoria, thinking that it wasn't driving the way I remembered and realized he hadn't had an oil change in 3000 miles and the brakes need to be replaced. Let's say I was a little ticked... he says he told me about the brakes.. but don't remember that conversation. We did talk about the oil change.. but I had no idea it had been so long.
Anyway.. I started to get completely overwhelmed on my drive home. A lady in front of me was going not even 55 on the route to our house. By the time I got home with fussy kids, a car full of groceries, and two boys who wanted their new toys open.. I lost it. All I wanted to do was to put groceries away and sit down. That didn't happen. It was time to put groceries away, get dinner fixed, and try to learn how to work a spiderman web blaster. By the end of dinner.. I was in tears.
When I had talked to AJ earlier in the day, on the way to the store, he told me he didn't think he could call me back. I got a little pissed, I was distracted because I had my boys in the backseat- sitting pretty close together (thank God for my Van) fighting and was pretty distracted. All I wanted to do was to talk to him about our day. So, I txt'd him and told him that I really needed him to call tonight. I just felt like all of a sudden he is in Marine mode, and that was that. I am so used to talking to him when I am sad, and today I realized that I no longer have that. He did call after I was txt'ing him and said he would call back tonight. I hope so- I so want to hear his voice.
My good friend Angie called tonight. She and I went through our last deployment together. It was so nice to talk to someone who understands and can reassure me that I am not nuts. I love you Angie! I have gotten so many nice E-mails and txt messages today. Thank you all for thinking of me. Well, I want to sit out on my porch and enjoy the dropping temps. We went from 97 yesterday with 40 mile an hour winds, to 45 tonight. Got to love the Midwest!
A little clearer..
I slept amazingly well. I think I was so emotionally exhausted. I know that I fell asleep pretty quick, then my phone rang around 12:00 a.m. . It was the Company 1st Sgt. asking me some questions. I know that he has several times if I was sleeping, and I think i stumbled through it and some how gave him an answer. I bet I sounded very intelligent at that moment.. since I don't really remember why he called.
Anyway from what I see, AJ's flight out left pretty much on time this morning from Chicago. Chicago had pretty severe storms last night, so I was worried about their ride up and getting out. He will spend the day in the North Carolina airport, until the other guys get there this evening. I know he will be exhausted.
Well, I have decided to get up and get going this morning! The kids and I are off to a movie (Surf's Up is out today), grocery shopping, and I am dying to check out the new Sarah Jessica Parker line at Steve and Barrys. I had never gone in there until the other day and ended up buying a cute tank top with sparkles, and a t-shirt that says"I love Marines." for 15.00. They were just putting out her new line when I was there, but I have heard a ton about it on t.v. and magazines. So, we will see.
The boys woke up in good spirits. Brady did ask where AJ was. Keeg responded" Remember he left on his field trip." I think Keeg will be wonderful for Brady this deployment, he has such an old soul sometimes for a soon to be 8 year old.
Well, I better get going. I have vowed to get into some type of a routine this week.. as soon as I figure out what day of the week it is!

Just a quick note..
AJ just left. It was the hardest thing I have had to do to this date. Even though we have done it so many times. He took saying Good Bye to the boys very hard. They were concerned with his tears. I decided to have a friend take him to the bus, because I didn't think I wanted to drag it out anymore. I woke up this morning crying- and I have been so strong up until this point. We did have a good day, went to lunch, got Keeg his birthday presents, and just pretty much hung out.
I am now going to bed- my head hurts so bad. It is the wierdest feeling after he leaves. The house is all the way he left things, and you suddenly realize that you are on your own. Even our Puggle, started acting funny and getting into things.
Well... here we go.

They will then move to Camp Pendelton for a month, then to 29 Palms for a few weeks.

Tuesday
The craziness continues. Today I spend the morning working on the Peoria Marine website. I am trying out Microsoft Expressions, since I no longer have Frontpage. I like it, but it is a little more technical for an amature like me. I did get an E-mail yesterday from a Marine from another unit wondering who designed our Kick A** website and wanted to know where he could get the template. I think he will be surprised that I designed it. AJ said to ask him how much he can pay! Anyway.. the day was filled with a doctor appointment for the boys and then lunch with the Peace Time War Time Marines. They took me and the kids to McDonalds so we could have a meeting and the kids could play. Other then that just trying to keep up with the E-mails and phone calls from families about the send off for our Marines. I am wondering how I ever fit in a full time job with everything that has been keeping me busy this week!
AJ did an interview last night - you can see the news articles on www.peoriamarines.com . Well, my Dad and my sister are coming over for pizza. I better get going. Hope your week is going well.

Monday
The dreaded week has begun! I have to admit that I have been dreading this week since I heard AJ was going back to Iraq. This week is filled with all kinds of anxiety, panic, fear, and tears. It seems as if everytime he says good bye to another family member, I cry. So I will go through many good byes this week. AJ is working at the drill center all week and will get to have Wednesday off.
I can't seem to get moving today. I think I had a working sleep last night and don't think that my mind every shut off. I think AJ slept the same way, because we were both wide awake at 5 a.m.
I didn't get good pictures this weekend. The weather was beautiful and I was more set on taking advantage of the weather and time with AJ, that I left my camera at my grandma's on several outings. Here is one that I got. I can never get a good picture of AJ and the boys. AJ is usually closing his eyes, and the boys are usually making faces. So this is what I got!

Just a quick note..
We had a wonderful time in MI, the sun stayed out and we got some good beach time and pool time! I got a great start on my tan! We got back today and this will be the start of a crazy week. I may not post as much as I have been. But, that will pick up Friday. I am trying to savor every minute with AJ. Thanks again for your kind words of support!

New Security!
My Mom and I were talking and with AJ leaving.. she thought that I needed to make my blog a little more secure. So, now my blog is by invite only. I hope that doesn't create a problem, but I understand her concerns.
We are enjoying our time in MI. It has been cloudy, but warm. My grandma has been running a temp and goes to the doctor today, so that is sad to see her not feeling her normal self. I think my boys are feeding off of that, because they have been wild! They thought they got all of the cancer and are still recommending radiation, but she is not sure she wants to do that. We will see what is said today.
I didn't get any good pictures yesterday, as it rained after dinner. I will try to get some beach pics today. Have a good day!
